Tartuffe

Ground plan, white model, and final rendering in Vectorworks.
Designed to fit EMU Legacy Theatre space.

Production Concept: Hypocrisy is only elusive to those that refuse to see it, and so this design includes transparent elements. Wealth brings an illusion of intelligence, success, and an abundantly cocky sense of security, which will be reflected in the design’s aesthetic and penthouse location. These themes are reflective of the current socio-political climate, which is rife with religious and political hypocrisy of elected and non-elected billionaires who attempt to impose white, Christian, patriarchal control over the lives of all Americans. Exits and entrances will be created with the automated room dividers (USC), and decorative main door (USL). The “closet” (DSL) is a plexiglass walled study that will have automatic/ remote control blinds. A view of neighboring skyscrapers through floor to ceiling windows (DSR) would add to the sense of disconnect or not being grounded in reality.
